David Hutchinson
Director/Chief Executive Officer

David is a graduate of Sydney University with a First Class Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering.

He’s founded a number of very successful start up businesses, two of which have received State and National recognition via the Telstra Small Business Awards – Quantum Technical Services being one of those under its previous name of Photo Waste Management.

David has a passion for continuous improvement and IT, and has developed our systems to a level which could potentially be marketed to external clients as a business service in its own right.

Katy O'Brien
Resource Manager

Katy's one of those people whose destiny seems to be mapped out for her. She came to Quantum in 1996, stayed 5 years, left and worked for Macquarie Bank and IBM Australia, and all the while continued to raise a growing family. One night in a restaurant in 2007, she had a blast from the past when David Hutchinson stumbled over and asked her if she'd like to return to us. By then Katy had realised that you can't fight fate, and has been back since.  Her people management and accounts skills are qualities that have earned her the respect and admiration of Management and staff, and she's come to realise that she'll eventually be taken out of here in a box!

Alan Leaf
State Manager VIC TAS

Alan cannot be missed! He’s the one with the shiny pate, a huge handlebar moustache and an equally large grin on his face. He’s been with Quantum since June 2003, bringing with him many years of senior management experience  with national retail and service companies. He knows what customers want, having previously been one of our clients.

Alan’s enthusiasm and energy is contagious . He encourages all employees to have a go and loves to recognise their efforts with his regular awards’   He’s also got a soft spot for spreadsheets and figures and works closely with both the sales team and the operations managers to keep them on budget and on the lookout for new business opportunities.

Paul Anderson
State Manager QLD NT

Paul has over 30 years' trade experience in the full product range from commercial to industrial air conditioning systems and related controls, particularly in hospitals, hotels, shopping centres and State and Local Government facilities. He has held various management positions and has recently gained his Diploma of Management with more studies planned. He certainly made his mark soon after joining Quantum in early 2008, and quickly earned the respect and admiration of customers and employees with his easygoing style and decision-making skills..

Paul Talbot
State Manager NSW

Within two weeks of starting as Operations Manager NSW, Paul was promoted to State Manager. That statement speaks for itself and illustrates the enthusiasm and competence with which Paul has immersed himself into his new job. He grew up in England, and his background is in air conditioning and mechanical services, with extensive management experience at various levels. Paul is a bit of an exercise aficionado, swimming 4 kms a week, running 16 kms a week, playing tennis and yachting. His other outside interests include super fund management and property management, so he's proving to be very well-rounded (but definitely not in the physical sense!)

Cullen Spotswood
State Manager WA

Cullen has the enviable combination of youth and experience in his chosen profession, which enables him to stand out from the crowd - although being tall doesn’t hurt either!

Starting out as a Refrigeration apprentice some 13 years ago in his home state of South Australia, Cullen has progressed through the ranks of some of the big name refrigeration and air conditioning wholesale and service provision companies in South Australia and was promoted into a senior management role in Western Australia in 2010.  His key career decision was made in early 2011 when Cullen decided he was ready to bring his now well established Key Account Management and Sales skills to Quantum Technical Services.

As a result, Cullen has taken on the role of Business Development/State Manager for the QTS business in WA, heading up a talented team of multi skilled can-do technicians providing regular and breakdown services to our local and National customers - while he goes about his business of ensuring his clients are satisfied and loyal, and bringing new customers on board.

Henry Nieuwenhuis
State Manager SA

Henry was the owner of TA Carman Pty Ltd, an SA based family business which was acquired by Siltech in June 2003. When he agreed to join us we obtained a wealth of experience, an extensive customer list and a mountain of jokes any stand up comedian would be pleased to have in his repertoire.

Henry’s great passion is golf which he approaches with as much enthusiasm as he does the business, and while he has a bit of work to do on his handicap (allegedly), he is well versed in all facets of the business, having worked in all areas.  Henry became the 'trade show guru', and has devoted his unlimited energy to ensuring Quantum is well represented at all the relevant exhibitions until he moved into his current position of State Manager SA.

Bronwen Manuel
Accounting Manager

Bronwen joined us in May 2007, having previously worked with Logicalis as the Finance Manager.  In early 2004 Logicalis was taken over by IBM where Bronwen worked with Katy O’Brien.  At Quantum, she is currently responsible for the Accounts team in her capacity as Accounting Manager, and is also the Return To Work Coordinator.  Bronwen has a range of experience in various finance and administrative roles, and has become the 'go to' person for many different areas of the Quantum business.

Mark Wallis
Key Account Manager

A gross understatement would be to describe Mark as an avid fisherman – he’s totally besotted with it! And if you can get him off of his tales of 'the one that got away’, you’ll discover he is one of the most knowledgeable members of the company, having been with us since March 1997 during which time he’s held a number of key management positions, including sales and operations.

It is Mark’s knowledge and experience that enables him to deal so efficiently with our major national clients. His additional role of in-house training facilitator also allows him to pass on this experience to employees via structured programs, which to date have been both technical and administration based.
